ARRIVING BY LAND?

From Marin:

Cross the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge, east-bound. There is no Point Molate exit from this direction, so you’ll need to take the Richmond Pkwy / PT Richmond exit instead. Keep RIGHT at the first fork in the ramp, merge left onto Castro St. but stay in the right lane as you go under the freeway, then take the right hand on-ramp for I-580 West, heading back towards the bridge and San Rafael. Just before the toll plaza, take the Point Molate/Stenmark Drive exit (right). Take the middle fork at the first intersection and hug the coast road for about 2.2 miles. Take a right up a steep hill as you see the signs for Point San Pablo Harbor.

From the East Bay:

From Interstate 80 (either direction), take the Interstate 580 West towards the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge. Just before the toll plaza, take the Point Molate/Stenmark Drive exit (right). Take the middle fork at the first intersection and hug the coast road for about 2.2 miles. For our primary parking lot, take a right up a steep hill as you see the signs for Point San Pablo Harbor. During busy days and popular events, our secondary lot will open and you may need to continue on Stenmark Drive around the Point San Pablo peninsula through T4. Then it’s just a short walk along the shoreline to Point San Pablo Harbor. See the map below.

ARRIVING BY SEA

Do not attempt to boat into our harbor unless you are sure of the approach. Boats often get stuck—there is a shallow shoal and a sunken wreck out beyond the Harbor’s mouth. Please check the charts for the safe approach. We also have a very shallow harbor: 1’ of water at a 0 tide. It’s best to time your visit with a high tide. Please pay close attention to your chart. There is a sunken ship and shallow shoal straight out from the mouth of the harbor. Thus, there is a specific narrow channel for entering the harbor safely. Please study the chart. Point Orient is the closest tide station. Once you’ve entered the Harbor, stay to the right of the fairway close to the end ties for the deepest waters. Come to the last fairway between docks 1 and 2 and pull into the dock closest to the restaurant. Call Harbormaster Daryl in advance with any questions, 510-233-3224.
